Supply of 27,000 Tons of Coils for Philippines largest bulk water supply project.
Mlion Corporation has successfully delivered 27,000 tons of coils for the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project. Coils were rolled, and delivered in 2 batches as per EPC Contractor (J.V. Angeles Construction) requirements. Discussions started in late 2018 on the supply of the raw materials which would eventually be rolled into pipes in Davao. The pipes would form the 60km of pipeline that will form the backbone of the entire project. Final deliveries were made in January and March 2019 within a very tight timeline provided.
Due to the rather unique steel grade that was required, Mlion Corporation sourced, customised and delivered ASTM A139 Grade B and Grade E for the customer with all coils conforming to the specification.
The project is set to be the largest bulk water supply facility in the country as it will provide over 300 million liters of safe water to the Davao City Water District (DCWD) per day.
The treated water will be distributed to over one million Davaoeños through the city’s five existing water systems, namely, Dumoy, Calinan, Tugbok, Panacan, and Cabantian as well as in three additional new water systems in Talandang, Mandug, and Indangan.
Apo Agua Infrastructura Inc., a joint venture between Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (AEV) and J.V. Angeles Construction Corp. (JVACC), signed the bulk water supply agreement with the DCWD in 2015.
