In 2012, we were proud to be able to work with a local contractor to supply Steel Sheet Piles for Flood Control Project about 100km outside of Davao City, Philippines. The project utilized Cold Formed Steel Sheet Piles from our U-Type range to great effect. Locally available Type 2 and Type 3 sheet piles, was not able to match the higher section modulus and steel grade required. We delivered the piles within 30 days to port so that customer can begin work shortly after mobilization.
Cold Formed Sheet Piles are generally higher in unit price due to its added process of rolling the piles from Hot Rolled Coils into its final shape. However, as compared to Hot Rolled Sheet Piles, they are wider in size and more weight efficient for the same bending moment. As such, the weight savings presents a large overall quantum saving for the buyer. Apart from price, due to the width of the piles, you require less number of pieces of piles to drive. This time saving can be significant over a large quantity of piles. From experience, we have customers who saved up to 20-30% of piling time due to the use of cold formed piles. Imagine the amount of money you could have saved by not requiring your machines to run the extra hours! Lastly, our cold formed piles could be fully customized in thickness, length, width and steel grade. This gives you the added flexibility to only buy what you need and not over purchase wastage for your project.
